Adjunct Baker

Minimum Requirements:
1. Be able to work at least one weekend day every week, and
2. NCEA level 3 Maths and NCEA level 2 English or pass basic maths and literacy tests administered by us, and
3. Formal NZQA accredited qualification in baking OR pass bakery competency tests administered by us, and
4. Have 2 references from previous employers


Position Description:
No pre-mixes or additives! You must be good with your hands and be able to scratch bake without the use of any chemical or artificial ingredients. You hold the responsibility of prepping, baking, and post-production activities. Products you will need to make are bread, biscuits, cakes, pastry, and other baked goods using only natural ingredients. You will be responsible for developing new bakery products. You will have a positive and friendly attitude as well as impeccable personal hygiene.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Plan daily production requirements
2. Produce variety of baked goods
3. Maintain proper stock levels of ingredients
4. Clean bakery equipment and utensils
5. Maintain cleanliness of bakery
6. Pack finished products
7. Properly use and maintain equipment
8. Carry out daily tasks efficiently and accurately
9. Perform other duties as assigned


Skills / Knowledge Required:
1. Knowledge of all major types of baking
2. Ability to work well in a team environment
3. Ability to communicate effectively
4. Have a positive personal attitude
5. Understanding of food safety protocols
6. Be physically fit. Able to lift up to 25kgs. Other physical demands: constant standing, frequent bending, kneading, exposure to cold and heat.
7. Early riser with excellent health

About Remuneration:
Your pay will start at an hourly rate based on your level of skill and experience. After demonstrating superior performance pay rises and/or bonuses are applicable. All pay reviews are performance-based.
